Applicants
for admission into a full-time program (18 hours/week
or more) must be at least 17 years of age. Selnate may
deny admission to anyone, but will not discriminate
based on age, sex, race, nationality, or physical handicap.
Applications are accepted and processed on a first-come,
first-served basis until all classes are filled.
Selnate will normally accept international students from
any country, provided they possess one of the following
(and, if applicable, the petition to change status is
granted by the INS):
• Current F-1 or F-2 (student)
Visa and current I-20
• Current B-1 or B-2 (tourist)
Visa and current I-94
• Green card showing U.S. residency
• US citizenship
Due to INS regulations, Selnate cannot issue I-20s to applicants
who have completed another ESL program or who have been
in ESL programs for three years or more.
International students who have I-20s issued by Selnate
may not be employed either on- or off-campus at any
time without special INS authorization.
IMPORTANT! Current students
attending school on Selnate-issued I-20s who leave the country
for any reason and who intend to return to Selnate must
have the back of their I-20s endorsed by an Selnate official
before leaving the US.
